Mohamed Lamranah Bah is a student of Spring of Life Christian pre-primary School, Bathcomp, Rohai Road, Koya Rural District. Mohamed is 12 years old. He is the oldest of the family of four.
Mohamed was affected by the civil war. He lost his mother and he now lives with his father and step mother. He has two brothers and a sister and they all live in a small mud house in Fogbo village.
Mohamed does not have a regular food, but his main diet is rice and stew, cassava and palm oil and sometimes foo-foo and groundnut stew.
Mohamed’s father is a fisherman and his step mother is a trader. When he’s not at school, Mohamed likes riding his bicycle, reading stories books, playing foot ball and also playing with other children.
Hajariatu Kamara is a student of Spring of Life Christian Pre-Primary School, Bathcomp, Rokai Road, Koya Rural District.
She is in class two, she was one of those who were affected by the last civil war in Sierra Leone.
The family house was burned and they ran away to the next village that is about 16 km away. In running away Hajariatu lost her father and mother. Now she lives with her grandmother, who finds it very difficult to pay the school fees on time.
Hajariatu only has one meal a day and sometimes not even that. Her main food, is rice and vegetable stew. She lives in a mud house 20 minutes’ walk from the school in Bathcomp villege. She is 9 years old with a sister and a brother. The grandmother does not work. Hajariatu likes going to school every day, she likes helping with the house work, doing some errands for the grandmother and helping with the cooking.
