There is a project to renovate and convert a disused school (previously occupied by the Hope Christian High School) into a new clinic in Namusaala, in the Kayunga district of Uganda. This will replace the mobile clinics which are currently run by volunteers.
The new clinic is to be called ‘Bethesda Mercy Clinic’ and will be under the jurisdiction of Rev. Baraka’s Bethesda Ministries Foundation (a Registered Charity in Uganda.) In June 2016 Rev. Baraka, who owns the land, had the official opening of his new Hope Christian High School which was attended by two Church of Uganda bishops and supporters from the USA.

Work on the clinic is due to begin shortly. It is a huge undertaking but will provide a much needed facility as many people in the local villages refrain from seeking medical help because of the cost of transport to health facilities in a town. The project is hopefully going to be supported by Rev. Baraka’s American Support Team which will include some medical people.
Fund raising in the UK for this project continues. Mary Mills, a member of Cherish, is the link person having worked in Uganda from 2009 – 2015. She is now UK based but still very much involved with the work in Uganda, hoping to visit annually.
